Anne T. Kmieck is a native Clevelander. She holds a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art and a MA from Case Western Reserve University. She has been a visual arts teacher at Hawken Upper School in Gates Mills, Ohio since 2000.
Anne T. Kmieck received an Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award for 2015. Her work is seen regularly in shows throughout northeast Ohio. She has participated in group shows beyond Ohio including Pennsylvania, North Carolina, West Virginia, Michigan, Illinois, California, and Suzhou, China. She has had numerous solo shows, including her most recent installation this past winter, a seven year project entitled, “Riparazioni: Meditations on the Fullness of Being (Woman)” exhibited at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at St. Bonaventure University in New York. Other solo shows include “Naming the Rose: An Interactive Art Installation Dedicated to Hundreds of Girls and Women of Juarez, Mexico” which was exhibited at Cleveland State University and Mount Vernon Nazarene University, “Out of the Closet” and “Out of the Closet: Her Side” which were shown at the Gallery at Trinity Commons and Notre Dame College, respectfully.
